The system implements two charge air supply modes: a stratified and homogeneous depending on the load size.  At a full load the FSI Direct Injection ups the compression to deliver better efficiency. Another member of the green team, packing a walloping 795-horsepower plug-in hybrid is the Porsche 918 Spyder prototype that just recorded one of the best ever times for a street-legal vehicle on the 12.8 mile track in Nürburgring Nordschleife. This car has exceeded even the highest of expectations and is expected to be in development within a year.
