BMW Inspection Services

To keep your BMW running at peak efficiency, it is recommended that you get it inspected every 30,000 miles or so. Even though the service lights will inform you when to get certain services performed, they will not help maintain the overall quality of the car in the long run. Inspection services performed by a qualified mechanic can help you determine which services are needed and when they should be performed.

Alex’s Autohaus Inspection Services

Here at Alex’s Autohaus we offer two inspection services for your BMW. While both inspections are thorough and detailed, there are several differences between the two. Both are recommended by BMW at different periods over your car’s life.

  • Inspection I- Our BMW Inspection service is the less in-depth of the two but is still incredibly thorough. When we provide this service, our BMW customers can expect the undercarriage, engine, body, and electrical components to be tested and replaced if necessary. Replacing worn out equipment is not including in the inspection cost so be prepared to spend extra money if a problem is discovered. A road test is performed at the end of the inspection service to determine if the brakes, transmission, suspension, and steering functions are working properly.
  • Inspection II- The second of the two inspections is more in depth than the first and includes everything from inspection I as well added services. Additional wear and tear services, like differential oil change, spark plug replacement, and fuel filter replacement, will be performed if they are needed. These specific replacement services are included in the inspection cost.

Which Inspection Should I Get?

If you are having trouble trying to decide which of the two inspection services to get, don’t worry BMW has already made the decision for you. Inspection I and Inspection II services should be performed every 30,000 miles on an alternating basis. For example, after your first 30,000 miles you should get the Inspection I service and after 60,000 miles you should get the Inspection II service. At 90,000 miles you should have the Inspection I service repeated, and so on. As is the case with many overseas car models, it is important to get these services performed by certified BMW mechanics like our mechanics at Alex’s Autohaus.

If you are in need of either the Inspection I or Inspection II services you can contact us here or by calling Alex’s Autohaus at 801.566.6115.
