Alex

was born November 23, 1961 in Munich, Germany. After completing public education, he trained as an apprentice in auto repair, and was able to complete the three year apprenticeship in two years because of high scholastic marks. Following his apprenticeship, he served a tour of duty in the German Army, working as a truck and tank mechanic. Once his military service was completed, he returned to school, obtaining his Meister Degree in auto mechanics, with a total of eight years of education in automotive repair.

Alex has been factory-trained in most European makes, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Saab, Mitsubishi, Volvo, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Audi. He immigrated to the United States in April of 1990, and was the shop manager for the previous owner of this business from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, he became the owner/operator at the original location in Midvale,Utah and changed the name to Alex’s Autohaus. In July of 2000, with the business growing rapidly, and with a larger staff, he moved the business to its Second location in Murray. After that We moved back to Midvale into an even better location. The move was important, as the business was expanding, and a larger, more accessible location was needed to better serve his customers.

Alex taught Emission Failure Awareness for a year at the evening school at Salt Lake Community College as well as European import diagnostics, before the demands of his career took over. However Alex is still involved in the Salt Lake Community College Planing Committee for Automotive Technicians. He is still very active in his business, personally test-driving vehicles, consulting with clients, assisting in repairs, service and diagnostics, as well as supervising a staff of automotive technicians, service writers and office personnel.
Willy Downs Service Manager

Willy has 13 years experience as a service manager and is your main contact when it comes to servicing and repairing your vehicle. He will do everything to full fill your needs and to make you a happy customer.

 

 

Bridgette Olson Office Manager

Bridgette is the right hand of Alex and Willy. She is answering the phone when Willy is busy with another customer, she will shuttle you if you need to be somewhere and she is doing all the necessary paper work to keep Alex’s Autohaus in compliance. If you need help, Bridgette will be always there for you.

We will do whatever we can to help you save money, including repairing your car right, the first time. Our Service Writers and technicians are knowledgeable, and friendly and eager to help you.

We can answer almost any question you may have regarding your car, and give you a prompt and accurate estimate for any needed repairs. We will always take the time to explain to you any problems that your car may be having, what repairs are needed and what recommendations the service technicians make.

We always have a lead technician on duty. All lead technicians are personally trained by Alex himself. The lead technicians responsible for doing all of the quality checks on repairs and service work and to make sure that everything in the shop runs smoothly.

We also have a full staff of automotive technicians, trained in all fields and on all makes and models, so there will always be someone here who knows exactly how to work on your particular car.
